Denver Post columnist Cindy Rodriguez is on a mission: a mission to save "the children." As you might recall, Ms. Rodriguez devoted multiple Sunday columns during the Colorado initiative campaign to the anti-marijuana mantra, "What about the children?" This latest piece is not nearly as dramatized, but Rodriquez's hypocrisy still shines through.
By now we should know that punitive policies only serve to criminalize kids and make them feel unwanted.
No, Ms. Rodriguez, by now YOU should know that punitive policies only criminalize people and make them feel unwanted. After all, is forcing students to wear uniforms, "locking them down," and treating them like budding little criminals really the best way to make them feel wanted? It sounds more like you want inmates...
